All of us know life doesn’t always run as smoothly as we’d like and sometimes projects get put on hold. For about two years now I for Style has been involved in converting a two bedroom granny flat which is in the basement level of a large country home in Middle Dural. Over the last several months, however, we have been working on the bathroom. Well I’m very happy to say we’ve now finished!!! (the bathroom that is).
The concept ‘French Finesse’, was chosen and the final outcome is a stunning French Provincial style bathroom with a truck load of character.
After the existing bathroom was completely gutted and an issue with dampness was addressed and fixed, we were able to get on with the ‘really important stuff’. The washed timber slats are a perfect foil – they’re really porcelain tiles. The vanity (a converted hall table) and travertine basin both have an authentic weathered look and the antique brass tapware will also form a lovely patina over time. Oh and the ladder – one I picked up off the side of the street!!
