Each of I for Style’s project have a concept. A concept is the idea behind a project. It helps to guide every decision that’s made and keeps the designer and clients on track. I like to use a word or a phrase that encapsulates the concept. In this case the phrase is ‘Classic French Style with a Modern Twist’.
At our first consultation we talked about the ambiance the clients wanted for their home. They both like a classical style that’s French inspired but with a tasteful, modern twist. A relaxed feel is important, but it still needs to have a sense of order. Their home already has a great floor-plan and higher than usual ceilings. However, it does lack the wow factor, so the solution is to add interest through a layering process.
Walls are currently painted in a soft beige but by incorporating wallpaper or a stronger paint colour to strategic areas, it will really make a difference. The entry/hallway is quite spacious with a sense of presence and welcome. Porters Paints grass cloth wallpaper applied to one wall, will add a subtle depth of colour and texture.
The master bedroom wallpaper is elegant and can be used on all the walls. Subtle changes of colour and texture in the pillows on the bed together with one or two extra cushions will make this room a beautiful space.
